Services & pricing

One engineer.
Two ways to work together.

A development subscription for ongoing work, or a fixed-price single build to start. No hourly billing, no scope creep — and you own every line of code.

How it runs

What a month actually looks like.

The membership is deliberately boring in operation: one queue, one thing in flight, something shipped every week. No standups, no sprint ceremony, no account manager between you and the person writing the code.

Day 1

Kickoff call and queue setup

Thirty minutes to walk your backlog. Anything you can describe goes into the queue, ordered by what would help most. You can reorder it any time after that without asking.

Week 1

First thing ships

We start at the top of the queue and work one item at a time. You see something running at the end of the first week — not a status update, a working thing you can click.

Ongoing

Weekly ship, continuous steering

Every week ends with something delivered. Feedback goes straight into the queue, so priorities can change mid-month without renegotiating anything.

Any time

Pause when the queue empties

When you run out of work, pause the subscription and stop paying. Your code, docs, and deployments stay yours and keep running. Resume when the backlog builds up again.

FAQ

The questions people actually ask.

Mostly about throughput and what happens when things go sideways. Straight answers below.

Typically two to four shipped items, depending on size — a focused integration or internal tool might take a few days, a customer-facing app with auth and payments takes most of a month. Because it's one thing at a time, throughput is predictable rather than optimistic. If a request turns out bigger than it looked, we'll say so before starting rather than silently absorbing the month.

One outcome. "Add booking to the site" is a request; "add booking, then redesign the homepage, then wire up Stripe" is three. There's no limit on how many you queue — only on how many are in flight, which is always one. If you're unsure how something splits, put it in as you'd describe it and we'll break it down together.

Ongoing paid ad management, graphic design and brand work, content writing, and 24/7 on-call support. Third-party costs — hosting, API usage, model tokens, domains — are billed to your own accounts, not marked up through us. If something falls outside scope we'll tell you and usually point you at someone who does it well.

Yes, in either direction. Most clients start with a $1,000 single build to see how working together goes, then move to the membership once they have a backlog worth a queue. Membership months can be paused, so there's no penalty for going back to one-off work.

Say so and it goes back to the top of the queue — revisions aren't a separate line item. Because something lands every week rather than after two months, the gap between a wrong assumption and catching it stays small. For single builds you see a working demo within days, specifically so you can redirect before anything is final.

Teams that need multiple engineers working in parallel, anything requiring 24/7 uptime guarantees, and projects where the requirements genuinely can't be described yet. If you need a full team rather than one senior engineer, the honest answer is that the membership won't cover it — we'd rather say that on the first call.

Government or larger scope?

Public-sector and bigger engagements are scoped individually. Tell us what you're working on and we'll map an approach.
